1. The second preambular paragraph should read
Recalling also articles 18, 19 and 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 2, paragraph 2 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, articles 4 and 5 of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and other relevant human rights provisions,
2. Paragraph 3 should read
Decides to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur for a further period of three years and, in this context, invites the Special Rapporteur, in accordance with the mandate specified in Council resolution 6/37, inter alia:
(a) To examine incidents of incitement to religious hatred, discrimination, intolerance and violence, manifested in particular by derogatory stereotyping and profiling, as well as by stigmatization of persons based on their religion or belief, whether involving the use of print, audio-visual or electronic media or any other means, and to recommend appropriate remedial measures;
(b) To encourage the adoption of measures and policies at the national, regional and international levels that ensure respect for places of worship, religious sites and public expressions of spiritual and religious beliefs, as these have more than material significance for the dignity and lives of members of communities holding these beliefs, thereby ensuring that their right to manifest their religion or belief in practice, worship, teaching and observance is protected and that there is no hindrance to the full enjoyment of their right to freedom of religion and conscience;
(c) To report on instances/acts, both in law and practice, that constitute violations of the fundamental right to freedom of religion or belief, taking into account articles 18, 19 and 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights;
(d) To work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity, as well as for multiculturalism;
3. Paragraph 6 should read
Requests the Special Rapporteur to submit her/his reports to the Council in accordance with its annual programme of work, and the next annual report in 2011, which should focus on, inter alia, the implementation of paragraph 3 of the present resolution and to make recommendations thereon;
